Overview

Vulture/Fortune: solo RMC and efficient refining. Moth: medium crew salvage. Reclaimer: heavy wreck fields and big targets.

Core Rule

Scraping creates RMC. Fracture/disintegrate creates construction material feedstock. Bigger ships move volume, but smaller ships may refine more efficiently.

Refinement Yield Changes By Ship

Fracturing/disintegrating creates material, but your salvage ship changes how much actually refines.

Bigger is not automatically better. 1,000 SCU collected does not equal 1,000 SCU refined.

Fracture Rules

Scrape valuable hull first. Fracture only when the HUD allows it. If the target is too big, the HUD shows the red blocked symbol and SIZE EXCEEDED.

Field Salvage / Combat Zone Cleanup

Contracts are not the only salvage loop. Check Hathor, Jump Gates, PvP areas, stations, busy routes, and event zones for player-created wrecks.

Field salvage works best when you treat the server like a living battlefield: scan first, check for owners, recover cargo/components when worth it, scrape valuable hull, then clean up destroyed remains.

Armistice Crime Stat Warning

Do NOT fracture ships inside armistice. Personal field experience: fracturing in armistice can risk Crime Stat. CS3+ can create a bounty and players will hunt you.

Usually Safe In Armistice

You can disintegrate ships that are already destroyed without the same fracture risk. If intact, soft-deathed, or questionable, do not fracture it in armistice.

Best Places To Look

  • Hathor / contested combat areas
  • Jump Gates
  • Popular PvP zones
  • Orbital stations and approach lanes
  • Dynamic event zones
  • Busy mission hotspots

Field Salvage Rules

  • Scout before deploying salvage heads
  • Check if the area is armistice
  • Check cargo before destroying the hull
  • Leave before pirates, owners, or bounty hunters return

Scrape vs Fracture

Scrape: safer, consistent RMC. Fracture/disintegrate: higher volume structural salvage, but target size and ship efficiency matter.

Material Strategy

Scrape first when the area is unsafe or when the target has good hull value. Disintegrate destroyed remains when cleaning the field or feeding construction material. Always consider refinery yield before choosing the salvage ship.
